Hovercraft Design Contest
First Place & Longest Overall Hover Time

Objective:
Design a simple, compressed air powered hovercraft to achieve the longest possible time aloft. Use a prototype to verify predictions.

Solution:
A balloon air source with an orifice for flow regulation and a compact disc for a hover surface. Maple program for analysis of viscous and inertial flows. Predicted values verified within 15% of measured values.
